Award a contract to MCC Equipment Rentals, Inc., the lowest <br />responsible bidder, in accordance with unit bid prices in the <br />estimated amount of $644,097.50 for construction of Pico Lowell <br />Neighborhood Water Main Improvements. <br />2. Approve a Funding Analysis with a total estimated construction cost <br />of $805,100. <br />DISCUSSION <br />This project provides for replacement of water mains in the Pico Lowell <br />Neighborhood (Exhibit 1). The improvements include installation of new <br />water mains, fire hydrants, and water services. Once completed, breaks <br />and leaks associated with the older and deteriorated water mains will be <br />eliminated, and water service capacity and fire protection will be <br />enhanced. <br />The Notice Inviting Bids was advertised on May 29 and June 1, 2009, and <br />bids were opened on June 25, 2009.
