EXHIBIT A <br />I. PURPOSE <br />The purpose of this Request for Proposal (RFP) is to obtain a prime contractor to enter into a <br />contract with the City to perform preventive and extraordinary maintenance on the citywide <br />traffic signal system and street light system. <br />II. TRAFFIC SIGNAL SYSTEM MAINTENANCE <br />a. Scope of Work <br />The Contractor shall furnish all tools, equipment, apparatus, facilities, labors, <br />services, training and materials to perform all work necessary to maintain all <br />traffic signal facilities in a good and worker-like manner according to the proposal <br />submitted and in accordance with these specifications. <br />The traffic signal system maintenance portion of this contract does not cover <br />safety light maintenance, except damage to the combination of traffic signal and <br />safety light pole due to malicious mischief, traffic collision or nature causes. <br />Maintenance of the traffic signal control system located at the City's Traffic <br />Management Center will be done as part of extraordinary maintenance only. <br />b. Service Personnel <br />The Contractor shall provide qualified service personnel to maintain and to service <br />all traffic signal equipments utilized by the City. Personnel shall have at least two <br />years of experience maintaining and troubleshooting traffic signal equipment. <br />Detailed knowledge of Type NEMA (G, M, P) and Type 170 (332, 334) Cabinets <br />is required. The city utilizes a combination of Multisonics 820A, 870 controllers <br />and 2070 controllers with Econolite's Firmware (ASC2 & ASC3). Personnel must <br />be knowledgeable in the use of these controllers. <br />All Lead Maintenance Personnel is required to have an IMSA Traffic Signal Level <br />2 Certification. In addition, all service personnel shall possess an NEC <br />certification. <br />The City reserves the right to refuse the use of any personnel whom in the City's <br />sole opinion are not qualified to work on these systems. An agreed upon personnel <br />list shall be maintained and only those listed are allowed to work in the city. Any <br />changes needs to be authorized by the City. <br />c. List of Signalized Intersections <br />See Appendix "B" for the list of traffic signals, CCTV, flashing beacons, and <br />flashing crosswalks. <br />d. Additions to S sy tem <br />The Contractor shall maintain additional traffic signals and appurtenant devices as <br />they are installed and notified by the City to be included in the maintenance <br />25A-12 <br />
