Cost of the routine maintenance of the new addition will be per contract <br />unit price and will be effective the 1St day of the following month unless stated <br />otherwise in the notification. <br />e. Routine Maintenance <br />The routine maintenance shall be performed on a periodically basis based on type <br />of equipment. <br />(a) Traffic Signal: <br />(i) Maintenance period: <br />The Contractor shall perform a complete inspection and service of each <br />signalized intersection once a month, not less than 25 days or more than 35 <br />days apart, for safety, operation and cleanliness. <br />(ii) Maintenance Tasks: <br />• Cabinets: <br />The Contractor shall clean the cabinets thoroughly on the inside, <br />including all components. The Contractor shall remove all unauthorized <br />external attachments such as notices, posters, signs, etc. and notify the <br />City of any graffiti that is on the signal equipment. It is not the <br />Contractor's responsibility to remove the graffiti <br />o Ventilation system: <br />The Contractor shall ensure that the cabinet's ventilation system is <br />in working order. Ensure that the Thermostat and Fan operates <br />properly. The air filter shall be replaced and dated every 90 days <br />(regardless of condition). <br />o Controller and Timing: <br />The Contractor shall check controller timing against the timing <br />sheet and notify the City on any deviation. No timing parameters <br />shall be changed without explicit approval from the City. <br />o Vehicle Detection System: <br />The Contractor shall ensure that the vehicle detection system is <br />fully functional. Maintenance Personnel must be well versed in the <br />use of the different types used by the City. The City utilizes the <br />following types of Detection: <br />Loop Detection -Detectors needs to be checked that it is <br />properly detecting vehicles and able to apply calls to the <br />controller. The Contractor shall adjust the sensitivity levels to <br />tune out any stuck detectors or replace defective vehicle <br />detector amplifiers as necessary. The Contractor shall meter <br />loops individually when troubleshooting loop problems. The <br />City shall be notified of all defective loops. <br />10 <br />25A-13 <br />
