changed as necessary. Contractor shall use only the Santa Ana Acorn globe <br />manufactured by J & J Roto-Plastics, 2308 S. Anne Street, Santa Ana, <br />California 92704, phone (714) 557-1171, or approved equal. Submit to the <br />City for approval <br />(e) Emer ency Services <br />Twenty-four hours per day, seven days per week, emergency service shall be <br />provided by Contractor upon City's call with a response time of less than two <br />hours under normal circumstances, to make immediate or temporary repairs to <br />City owned series and multiple street light pole or service knock downs or <br />damage caused by vehicle collision, acts of God, vandals, or as required <br />because of a public safety hazard. The Contractor shall respond to emergency <br />calls when directed by the City and dispatch high voltage technician and <br />equipment. The Contractor shall so conduct his operations as to cause the least <br />possible obstruction and inconvenience to public traffic. Contractor shall <br />maintain and make available to the City, a local telephone number where <br />Contractor can be contacted twenty-four hours per day. <br />f. Extraordinary Maintenance <br />(a) The failure or malfunction of street lights may be considered extraordinary <br />maintenance. <br />(b) Any upgrading, repair work, or any installation solicited by the City, shall be <br />considered as extraordinary. Any extraordinary maintenance requests from <br />the City shall be confirmed by the Contractor as to the time of and number of <br />personnel dispatched. The Contractor shall contact the Enterprise <br />Management Section regarding any extraordinary maintenance work found <br />to be beyond requested repairs and seek prior approval before the work is <br />scheduled. Contractor shall notify Public Works Agency (PWA) <br />Dispatch Office at 647-3380 each day prior to crews being dispatched by <br />Contractor <br />(i) No underground work shall be performed prior to completion of <br />Underground Service Alert (USA) markings. <br />(ii) An electrical permit shall be obtained from the City's Planning & Building <br />Department prior to any additions to the City's street light or other <br />electrical system. <br />(iii)All extraordinary work completed by Contractor shall be invoiced time and <br />material as specified on Contractor's bid proposal <br />(c) Contractor shall respond to requests by City for extraordinary work within <br />24 hours of the request. Work shall start in a timely manner. Contractor <br />shall dispatch personnel, materials and equipment on a daily basis until work <br />is completed unless conditions do not allow work to be performed. <br />(d) City shall pay for such extra ordinary repairs required as follows: <br />(i) Materials. The City shall pay to the Contractor for any materials used <br />in extraordinary maintenance at Contractor's cost from the supplier <br />19 <br />25A-22 <br />
