Homeland Security Strategy Development Workshop. Support for
the Homeland Security Strategy Development Workshop will be
provided through the completion of the following items:
1) Initial Planning Conference (December, 2008): This meeting will
involve the lead stakeholders for the process and will serve as a forum
to clarify the objectives, focus, and critical elements of the Strategy. At
this time, a process will be established for meeting and gathering
information from agency leaders (using an interview format) as well as
representatives from each applicable discipline within each participating
city (using a workshop format). The ASAUA will help identify and create
a list of stakeholders who should provide input, and a timeline for
collecting this information will be established. Using the questions
developed during Step 1, Willdan will interview each person and
develop reports for use during the Workshop. This information will
provide a basic overview of current programs and initiatives and will
help structure the Workshop breakout groups.
3) ASAUA Workshop (June, 2009): Because much of the program
implementation falls to local governments and their partners, a two-day
workshop will be held to engage local responders, citizens, businesses
and non-governmental organizations. The participants should represent
a wide variety of preparedness professionals as well as private sector,
transportation, military, health, and universities.
The information provided by these participants will give a more detailed
perspective for the information gleaned in Step 2.
