Shawna has worked at Taller San Jose for ten years assisting in the development of numerous <br />projects including the construction training program. She received her B.A. from Santa Clara <br />University and spent a year working with the Jesuit Volunteer Corps in Orange County. In 2005, <br />Shawna was recognized as a Marano Fellow by the Aspen Institute and attended their Sector <br />Skills Academy which provides emerging leaders with a unique opportunity for peer learning, <br />skills development and professional growth. <br />Director of Workforce Development (.14), Juana T. Perez. <br />Juana assists with the oversight for all workforce training programs and works closely with <br />Program Managers to maintain the quality and consistency in each training program and ensure <br />alignment with the mission. She earned her BA in Psychology from the University of Riverside <br />and her MA in Public Policy & Administration with an Urban Affairs emphasis from the <br />University of California Long Beach. <br />Director of Finance (.10), Nancy Loughrey. <br />Nancy has been a Certified Public Accountant for 24 years, and has had an extensive experience <br />with small businesses, especially concentrating on nonprofits and computer software companies. <br />She holds a B.S and an M.B.A. in Finance. In addition to responsibility for all accounting <br />functions, Nancy is responsible for business systems and property maintenance. <br />Alumni Services Coordinator (.18), David Saldana. <br />David provides comprehensive follow-up services to recent graduates and active alumni and <br />oversees student participation in Taller San Jose's Individual Development Account (IDA). He <br />received his BA in Psychology from California State University Long Beach. Before joining <br />Taller San Jose, David spent 4 years as a house manager for a juvenile boy's group home and is <br />currently a Mentor for OC Wraparound services. <br />Program Manager (.25), Michele Preston. <br />Michele received her B.A. from California State University, Fullerton in Political Science. She <br />has over ten years experience in the Non-Profit Sector in both program and administrative <br />capacities. Michele has been on staff at Taller San Jose since November 2006 and continues to <br />focus on enhancing the Office Careers Academy program. Preston establishes and monitors <br />outcomes for recruitment, retention, program completion and job placement for the Office <br />Careers Academy. Michele also actively participates in the interviewing and assessment process <br />for all incoming students. Michele is responsible for cultivating and maintaining relationships <br />with employers, community agencies and other resources including contractual agreements with <br />community educational institutions for program content, instructors, and evaluation <br />components. <br />Case Manager (.25), Santos Chavez. <br />In addition to providing case management support for students enrolled in Taller San Jose, <br />Santos provides one-on-one mentoring, emotional support, 12 step education and life skills <br />training. Santos also provides relapse prevention education to students with a history of <br />substance abuse. He is a trained Recovery Addiction Counselor through the CA Association of <br />Alcohol and Drug Addiction Counselors (CAADAC), a member of Santa Ana's Early <br />Prevention Intervention Commission (EPIC) and is a member of Orange County's Probation <br />Department's Lives Worth Saving (LWS). Santos is also an ordained minister who runs the <br />Street Light Church Sober Living Home for re-entry. <br />slionrored by the Si.cterrt ()fst. Joseph of Oru14
