2.1.1 Service personnel shall be factory trained and certified to test and <br />maintain fire alarm systems in the state of California. <br />2.1.2 Service personnel shall be National Institute for Certification in <br />Engineering Technologies (NICET) certified in the field of Fire <br />Protection Engineering Technology. (Level 2, minimum) <br />2.1.3 Service personnel shall have two (2) or more years experience <br />performing service work on Fire Alarm Systems. <br />2.2 Service personnel shall be knowledgeable of current National Fire Protection <br />Association (NFPA) codes and how they affect fire alarm systems. <br />2.3 Service personnel shall be capable of demonstrating, upon request, the proper <br />trouble shooting techniques, service procedures and testing procedures for the <br />Fire Alarm Systems. <br />3. Testing/Inspection Personnel <br />3.1 The Company shall employ testinglinspection personnel (identified in the <br />following as inspection personnel) as full-time fire alarm inspectors. <br />3.2 The Lead Inspector shall be factory trained and certified to perform all NFPA <br />required testing procedures. <br />4. Design Engineering Personnel <br />4.1 Engineering personnel shall be factory trained and certified. <br />4.2 Engineering personnel shall be NICET certified. <br />II. SERVICES <br />1. Test and Inspections <br />1.1 Annual test and inspections of the fire alarm systems shall include, but not be <br />limited to, the following: <br />• Sensitivity testing of smoke detectors as follows: <br />➢ Smoke detectors shall be internally cleaned by using a vacuum device <br />and the exterior cleaned with approved solution. <br />➢ Smoke detectors shall be checked for proper sensitivity with <br />manufacturer's calibrated Sensitivity Test Instrument. <br />Rec_ 3/2712009 <br />
