➢ Smoke detectors that do not pass the first sensitivity test, shall be <br />dismantled, cleaned internally with approved solution and retested. <br />➢ Smoke sensitivity testing and cleaning shall be performed in such a <br />manner that all smoke detectors will be tested for proper sensitivity, <br />upon completion of the second year. Minimum 50% per year. <br />➢ All peripheral equipment shall be functionally tested for proper alarm <br />operation. Minimum 100% per year. <br />➢ One device on each initiating and signaling zone shall be disconnected <br />to determine proper supervision wiring. <br />➢ All control equipment and auxiliary functions shall be checked for <br />proper response to trouble and alarm conditions (Le., City Response, <br />AHU Shut -down). <br />➢ All control equipment shall be tested for proper voltages during trouble <br />and alarm conditions. <br />All batteries must be tested under load for the required time period to <br />ensure proper operation. <br />➢ Provide complete documentation of the entire fire alarm inspection and <br />test, listing all peripheral equipment (by location, device type, alarm <br />zone, sensitivity test results) and listing discrepancies (including any <br />repairs made while on-site). <br />➢ All inspection, functional testing, and audit functions must be performed <br />in accordance with respective nationally recognized standards (NFPA <br />72), and state fire codes. <br />1.2 Documentation that documents the above tests, (including but not limited to) <br />individual peripheral locations along with their sensitivity test results (rating <br />versus actual) and individual zone test results (normal versus abnormal) must be <br />submitted at the time of the testlinspection. <br />1.3 Tests and inspections shall be performed, utilizing two (2) company qualified <br />personnel. The representatives shall be present during the entire inspection and <br />utilize the following equipment supplied by the Company. <br />1.3.1 Two (2), two-way radios <br />1.3.2 "Gemini" or equivalent smoke detector sensitivity tester <br />1.3.3 Decibel meter <br />1.3.4 Controlled temperature heat detector tester for fixed temperature and <br />rate of rise heat detectors <br />1.3.5 Testing signs (free standing to be placed at entrance of building, <br />minimum 2'x 2'). <br />Rev_ 327(2009 <br />
