^ List of methods to inform the public about federal fair housing laws and the City's <br />affirmative marketing policy. <br />^ Requirements and practices owners must adhere to in order to carry out this policy. <br />^ Procedures owners must use to inform and solicit applications from persons in the housing <br />market area who are not likely to apply for the housing without special outreach. <br />^ Records that owners and the City will keep describing the actions they have taken to <br />affirmatively market units and records to assess the results of these actions. <br />^ A description of how the City will annually assess the success of affirmative marketing <br />actions and determine what corrective actions are needed. <br />Outreach to Minority/Women Owned Businesses <br />As a participating jurisdiction the City has adopted certain affirmative steps to insure maximum <br />feasible participation in HOME- and CDBG- funded projects by minority business enterprises, <br />women's business enterprises, labor surplus area firms and other small businesses. These <br />affirmative steps are listed below, and constitute the City's Minority Outreach Procedures and <br />Requirements Program for HOME and CDBG funded projects. <br />^ The City will place qualified small and .minority businesses and women's business <br />enterprises on solicitation lists. <br />^ The City will assure that small and minority businesses, and women's business enterprises <br />are solicited whenever they are potential sources. <br />^ The City will divide total requirements, when economically feasible, into smaller tasks or <br />quantities to permit maximum participation by small and minority business, and women's <br />business enterprises. <br />^ The City will use the services and assistance of the Small Business Administration, and the <br />Minority Business Development Agency of the Department of Commerce. <br />^ Prime contractor will be required, if subcontracts are let, to take the above listed <br />affirmative steps listed above. <br />The City will annually review the results of these procedures to determine if additional steps <br />should be taken. <br />47 Draft 8/26/2009 <br />19F-53 <br />
