Award a contract to All American Asphalt, the lowest responsible <br />bidder, in accordance with unit 'bid prices in the estimated amount of <br />$2,094,618 for construction of Segerstrom Avenue Rehabilitation from <br />Harbor Boulevard to Bristol Street. <br />2. Approve a Funding Analysis with a total estimated construction cost <br />of $2,617,234. <br />DISCUSSION <br />This segment of Segerstrom Avenue from Harbor Boulevard to Bristol <br />Street has been identified as a high priority on the City's Pavement <br />Management System (Exhibit 1). The pavement is deteriorating due to <br />weather, age and heavy usage. Some of the adjacent curbs, gutters, <br />sidewalks and driveway approaches are also in various states of <br />disrepair and require replacement. <br />This project provides for construction of new street pavement, <br />replacement, of damaged concrete curbs, gutters, sidewalks, cross <br />gutters, driveway approaches and wheelchair ramps. Once completed, <br />these improvements will enhance the ride quality, surface drainage and <br />visual appearance of the street. <br />The Notice Inviting Bids was advertised on July 15 and 17, 2009, and <br />bids were opened on August 5, 2009. A summary of the bid invitations <br />mailed, the bids received, and the bid results follows. <br />23B-1 <br />
