Transportation Investment Generating <br />Economic Recovery Funding Application <br />For Phase I of Alton Ave. Overcrossing <br />September 9, 2009 <br />Page 2 <br />in October 2005, the City Council approved the Final Environmental Impact <br />Report for the SR-55/Alton Avenue Overcrossing Project. Santa Ana is the <br />lead agency on this project which is a cooperative project with the City of <br />Irvine. In April 2009, the City entered into a professional service <br />agreement with Huitt-Zollars to provide engineering services, which are <br />anticipated to be completed in spring 2011. <br />Given the need of eligibility requirements defined by USDOT, staff <br />recommends that the City Council adopt the resolution authorizing submittal <br />of the project application for funding consideration and executing the <br />Certification. Applications for TIGER Discretionary Grants are due <br />September 15, 2009 and funds are available early 2010. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT <br />There is no environmental impact associated with this action. <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />If the project application is approved for funding, the City will receive <br />an estimated $35,fl00,000 through the TIGER Discretionary Grant program, <br />which does not require matching funds, over two years - FY 10/11 through <br />FY 11/12. <br />APPROVED AS TO FUNDS AND ACCOUNTS: <br />+~~ <br />George A arez Francisco Gutierrez <br />Acting Executive Director Executive Director <br />Public Works Agency Finance & Management Services Agency <br />55A-2 <br />
