Description of Work - In the space below, describe the program to be funded during the 12-month contract period. <br />What specific activities will be undertaken during the contract period. Only the <br />viewable space will print. <br />The "Steps to Independence" program assists women move from homelessness and hopelessness to a <br />productive place in our society. This is accomplished by providing safe and affordable housing, food, clothing, <br />case management, counseling and financial literacy. We also provide life -skills classes and referrals to a number <br />of external resources particularly in the areas of job search, job training, education, medical care, and <br />specialized support groups. The program participants are expected to stay in the program for 6 months. <br />Residents who come in from the foster care system or are over 55 years old may petition for an additional 6 <br />months. <br />The case manager works with each resident on a personalized individual plan for her stay in the program. The <br />employment program helps residents find employment and ugrade their skills to make them more employable. <br />Our Financial Empowerment Program assists the residents in learning to manage their finances and overcome <br />previous financial and credit issues. The individual and group psychological counseling sessions help the <br />women process issues that are impeding their ability to function. <br />*The program will provide safe, affordable housing for up to 30 women per day. <br />*The program will assist each resident who is able to work to find a job within the first 30 days of entering the <br />program. <br />*The program will provide a minimum of 14,560 prepared meals for the women living in the program. <br />We anticipate that 70% of the residents who stay in our program a minimum of six months will obtain a full time <br />job with benefits or some other secured income stream. We anticipate that 50% of those residents will have <br />safe, affordable housing to go to when they leave the program. <br />Schedule of Performance <br />Estimate the number of unduplicated Santa Ana residents to be served by the funded program during the 12-month <br />contract period per quarter. (Enter number of new Santa Ana clients served each quarter.
