Ronv~sno <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2010-002 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF A GRANT <br />AWARD AGREEMENT AND ACCEPTING ADDITIONAL <br />GRANT AWARD FUNDS AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY <br />MANAGER OR THE CHIEF OF POLICE TO APPROVE AN <br />APPROPRIATION ADJUSTMENT FOR THE DUI <br />ENFORCEMENT AND AWARENESS PROGRAM GRANT <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby, finds, determines and <br />declares as follows: <br />A. The California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS) has established the DUI <br />Enforcement and Awareness Program Grant (Grant) and is responsible for <br />implementing the same. <br />B. The Grant provides funds to local police departments to conduct DUI and <br />Driver License checkpoints, as well as DUI saturation inspections, among <br />other targeted DUI enforcement. <br />C. The City of Santa Ana Police Department was selected to receive Grant <br />Number AL1084 from OTS in the amount of $249,200.00. <br />D. The City of Santa Ana Police Department has been awarded additional <br />funding in the amount of $40,000.00 from OTS for the Grant. <br />Section 2. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana does hereby authorize the <br />previous execution of grant award agreement number A-2009-130 with the State of <br />California, Office of Traffic Safety in the amount of $249,200.00. <br />Section 3. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby accepts and authorizes <br />and directs the City Manager and the Chief of Police, or their designees, to accept and <br />authorize the additional grant award from the California Office of Traffic Safety DUI <br />Enforcement and Awareness Program Grant in the amount of $40,000.00. <br />Resolution No. 2010-002 <br />Page 1 of 3 <br />
