Contract Award For <br /> Residential Street Repair - <br /> Phase 12 <br /> February 1, 2010 <br /> Page 2 <br /> Included in the project is parking lot pavement repair at the Santa Ana <br /> Regional Transportation Center (Exhibit 2~. To obtain the lowest possible <br /> price, this repair was included in the scope of this project at a cost of <br /> $76,950. To allocate funds for this repair, an Appropriation Adjustment <br /> (AA) is needed. The AA recognizes $73,450 from unanticipated rent <br /> revenues at the Transportation Center and $3,500 in reimbursement from A <br /> White and Yellow Cab Company for their portion of the repair costs. The <br /> Transportation Center pavement is deteriorating due to weather, age, and <br /> heavy usage of taxi and buses. This portion of the project provides for <br /> construction of new asphalt pavement at two entrances/exits. <br /> The Notice Inviting Bids was advertised on November 23 and 25, 2009, and <br /> bids were opened on December 17, 2009. A summary of the bid invitations <br /> mailed, the bids received, and the bid results follows. <br /> Santa Ana Contractors receiving notices: 14 <br /> Contractors requesting bidding documents: 15 <br /> Bids received: 6 <br /> Bids received from Santa Ana Contractors: 1 <br /> NAME OF RESPONSIVE BIDDER CITY TOTAL BASE BID <br /> PLUS ADD ON <br /> ALTERNATE ONE <br /> 1. All American Asphalt Corona $2,929,195.00 <br /> 2. Hardy & Harper, Inc. Santa Ana $2,967,375.00 <br /> 3. R. J. Noble Company Orange $3,097,880.50 <br /> 4. Elite Bobcat Service, Inc. Corona $3,106,957.00 <br /> 5. Imperial Paving Co., Inc. Santa Fe Springs $3,171,670.00 <br /> 6. Excel Paving Company Long Beach $3,339,395.00 <br /> A total of six bids were received and all were responsive. The lowest <br /> base bid plus add-on alternate one was submitted by All American Asphalt, <br /> for $2,929,195, which is below the Engineer's estimate of $3,142,240. <br /> ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT <br /> In accordance with the California Environmental Quality Act, the proposed <br /> <br /> project is exempt from future review.
