REQUEST FOR <br />COUNCIL ACTION <br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE: <br />February 1, 2010 <br />TITLE: <br />QUARTERLY REPORT <br />ENTERED INTO BY <br />MANAGER <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br />APPROVED <br />❑ As Recommended <br />❑ A <br />OF CONTRACTS [] r Amended <br />Ordinance on 15t Reading <br />THE CITY ❑ Ordinance on 2" d Reading <br />❑ Implementing Resolution <br />❑ Set Public Hearing For <br />1 �Gc <br />CITY MANAGER <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />CONTINUED TO <br />FILE NUMBER <br />Receive and file the Quarterly Report of Contracts entered into between <br />October 1, 2009 and December 31, 2009, valued at $25,000 and less. <br />DISCUSSION <br />On November 7, 2006, the voters approved a Charter Amendment increasing <br />the authority of the City Manager to enter into contracts and agreements <br />up to a value of $25,000. Section 421 of the Charter requires the City <br />Manager to report to the City Council quarterly on the contracts entered <br />into under his authority for informational purposes. The report is <br />required to include the names of contractors and the amounts of each <br />contract. <br />Exhibit A is a listing of all purchase orders, agreements, and change <br />notices entered into between October 1, 2009 and December 31, 2009 valued <br />at amounts between $500 and $25,000. Unless included under a blanket <br />contract, the City as a general rule does not purchase goods or services <br />valued at under $500 through either a purchase order or an agreement. <br />Purchase orders and service agreements valued at greater than $25,000 <br />require approval by the City Council. <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />There is no fiscal impact associated with this action. <br />19D -1 <br />
