Agreement. In the event the existing irrigation system fails to provide full <br /> and proper coverage, the Contractor shall provide alternate irrigation with <br /> full and proper coverage to all areas in the work site at no extra cost to the <br /> City. <br /> (2) Newly planted trees, slu ubs, ground cover and turf shall receive adequate <br /> water to promote normal healthy growth. Proper berms or basins shall be <br /> maintained during plant establishment period. <br /> b) Operation of Automatic Irrigation Controllers <br /> Where the operation of automatic irrigation controllers is required, the <br /> Contractor shall: <br /> (1) Not duplicate any coded City key furnished by the Parks, Recreation & <br /> Community Services Agency for access and operation of the contzoller. <br /> (2} Surrender all keys furnished by the Parks, Recreation & Community <br /> Services Agency at the end of the contract period or at any time deemed <br /> necessary by the Director to prevent serious loss to the City of Santa Ana• <br /> {3} Protect the security of City property by keeping controller cabinet and <br /> building doors locked at all times. <br /> (4) Refiain from using locked premises for stozage of materials, supplies or <br /> tools, except as approved by the Director. <br /> (5) Program normal irrigation between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 4:00 a.m. <br /> c) Water Consezvation <br /> (1) The Contractors Certified Irrigation Specialist shall meet once a month <br /> with the Utility Coordinator to review the City's Monthly Water <br /> Conservation Report (see Attachment 5) to discuss water Consezvation <br /> strategies. These discussions may include, but not be limited to, the <br /> Contractor turning off irrigation systems during periods of rainfall and <br /> times when suspension of irrigation is desirable to conserve water while <br /> remaining within the guidelines of the EAW. <br /> {2) When the Utility Coordinator determines that plant material {turf, <br /> groundcover, shrubs, and trees) must be irrigated, all controllers shall be <br /> activated within twenty-four (24} hours. In the event the controllers are <br /> not activated within 24 hours the City may charge Contractor all staff cost <br /> incurred by City to activate controllers. <br /> <br /> d) Inspection and Reporting <br /> (1) The Contractor shall physically inspect the operation of all irrigation <br /> systems once a month and prepare a written report specifying park name, <br /> 25C-29 <br /> <br />
