<br />attitude. We will make a video record of a mock interview with each client that will serve as <br />a basis for instruction and improvement. (2) Resume writing. Each of our participants will, <br />with our help, produce a resume that indicates relevant past experience and interests. This <br />resume will be kept on file at our agency and can be modified for different job opportunities. <br />(3) Internet Search. All participants will establish an email account, if they do not already <br />have one. Each will gain practice searching for job opportunities via the internet using <br />computers at our center. Staffwill be available to help job seekers who can drop by at their <br />convenience to use our computers. (4) Financial Literacy. We will encourage our <br />participants to pursue long-term goals and plan for their financial future. We will use our <br />own materials and adapt others that are widely available to provide instruction, and we will <br />acquaint our youths with how to open a bank account and checking account if they have <br />never done so in the past. <br />Participants will be given a post-test after each workshop. They will earn a clothing <br />allowance, to purchase clothes that can be used for job interviews, upon successful <br />completion of the workshops. <br />In addition, participants will be assigned to our After School Youth Program or our <br />morning Vocational ESL program, if necessary, to improve their basic skills and gain other <br />valuable experience at our agency and in the community. Our Project Manager will work <br />with each client with the goal of obtaining suitable employment or entry into an educational <br />program. <br /> <br />7. How we will conduct outreach and recruitment, including how 75% of the enrollment goal <br />will be met by the second quarter of the contract. <br />In planning to achieve our enrollment goal of 16, we expect to recruit 12 (75%) by the <br />end of the second quarter. We will rely upon our extensive network of clients and <br />community contacts to identify those who meet the eligibility criteria and are most likely to <br />benefit from this program. The Project Manager (PM) will consult with agency staff to <br />identify families that have potential recruits. The PM will also utilize our ongoing <br />relationship with staff at oUr community High School to identify <br />The PM will be responsible for recruiting program participants. Recruitment will focus <br />on several categories of potential recruits: (1) former Youth Program participants; (2) <br />relatives and friends of agency clients; (3) job seekers who come to our agency; (4) clients <br />of partner agencies. <br />Potential recruits will be contacted by phone, or in person at our agency or at their <br />homes. The recruiter will verify the eligibility of each youth contacted. The program's <br />purpose and benefits will be explained, as well as the participant's rights and <br />responsibilities. Each recruit will provide documentation of their eligibility for the program, <br />including their right to work. For those qualified recruits who agree to participate, an <br />appointment will be set for Intake/Assessment. <br /> <br />8. Collaboration/partnerships that will assist in recruitment. <br />The Cambodian Family has a long history of collaboration with community partners. <br />Prior to the start of our Upward Mobility program, we will inform these collaborators about <br />our program and encourage them to identify families among their clients that have youths <br />who may qualify for, and would benefit from, our services. <br /> <br />3 <br /> <br />EXHIBIT A <br />
