Fire Protection <br />PBS&J will revise the section to include new information regarding fire protection. PBS&J will <br />contact the Santa Ana Fire Department (SAFD) for information (if necessary) on response times <br />and current and planned staffing levels. Existing demand for fire services in the project area will also <br />be described. <br />Using factors developed in consultation with the SAFD, the EIR will evaluate the ability of the Fire <br />Department to serve the project site. <br />Schools <br />PBS&J will revise the section to include new information regarding schools. Analysis will be <br />performed to understand current and future student enrollment trends, which will lead to the <br />development of a school mitigation plan. The EIR will describe existing and projected school <br />enrollment for the Santa Ana Unified School District. Any existing or planned schools in the vicinity <br />of the project area will be identified. <br />Libraries <br />PBS&J will revise the section to include any new information regarding the Santa Ana Library <br />Department, its capacity, or plans for expansion. This information will be reported in the DEIR. <br />Based on input from the City and County, the project demand will be evaluated, along with the need <br />for additional facilities. <br />Recreation <br />The EIR will revise and identify existing and planned park facilities in the City, and the City's park <br />standards through consultation with the City's Parks, Recreation, and Community Services Agency. <br />The EIR will quantify the demand for parkland generated by maximum residential build -out in the <br />project area, based on the City's park standards. <br />Transportation and Circulation <br />Transportation and Circulation is likely to be one of the major issues to be addressed in the EIR. <br />Katz, Okitsu & Associates (KOA) will prepare a new technical transportation study. The scope of <br />the traffic study is intended to meet the City of Santa Ana requirements for analysis of traffic <br />impacts associated with this project. KOA will meet with City staff to discuss the project, the <br />proposed method of analysis, and other relevant considerations. At such, time, KOA will verify the <br />study approach and any additional specific study requirements prior to any data collection. KOA will <br />discuss potential traffic issues with the City's personnel to identify any additional concerns and <br />recommendations. <br />Study Orientation and Scope Refinement <br />KOA senior staff would meet with City staff to discuss the revised project, the proposed method of <br />analysis, and other relevant considerations.
