1ss060410 <br /> RESOLUTION NO. <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br /> CITY OF SANTA ANA AUTHORIZING APPLICATION <br /> FOR PROJECT FUNDING THROUGH THE <br /> TRANSPORTATION ENHANCEMENT (TE) <br /> PROGRAM ADMINISTERED BY THE ORANGE <br /> COUNTY TRANSPORTATION AUTHORITY <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA <br /> <br /> ANA AS FOLLOWS: <br /> Section 1. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby finds, <br /> determines and declares as follows: <br /> A. The Safe, Accountable, Flexible, Efficient Transportation Equity <br /> Act: A Legacy for Users (SAFTEA-LU) provides funds for Transportation <br /> Enhancement (TE) projects including landscaping, scenic beautification, bicycle <br /> and pedestrian projects to better integrate transportation facilities into the <br /> surrounding community; and <br /> B. Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) OCTA has been <br /> authorized to administer TE funding of approximately $3.6 million annually, for <br /> total estimated amount of $12.4 million, for fiscal year (FY) 2010-2011through <br /> FY 2012-2013; and <br /> C. OCTA has issued a call for TE Projects, including projects providing <br /> landscape and aesthetic enhancements as well as bicycle and pedestrian <br /> facilities projects; and <br /> D. Santa Ana desires to apply for funding for eight projects, as set <br /> forth in Exhibit A, attached hereto and incorporated by reference; and <br /> E. If selected, the City of Santa Ana will cause the work on the <br /> project(s) to commence within a reasonable amount of time after receipt of <br /> notification from OCTA that funding has been approved, and will complete the <br /> project(s) with reasonable diligence. <br /> Section 2. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby authorizes <br /> the Executive Director of the Public Works Agency to apply for funding and <br /> submit the list of projects, as well as any other documents required under the TE <br /> Program. <br /> 55D-5 <br /> <br />
