P OLICE D EPARTMENT <br />D EPARTMENT P ROGRAMS <br />Chief's Office <br />Provides executive leadership and direction in support of the City's <br />strategic plan priorities and community safety needs. The Chief’s Office <br />is charged with the responsibility of allocating the necessary personnel, <br />resources and training to address these community safety needs and <br />priorities, with a focus on 21st century policing pillars, enhancing and <br />reforming police services. <br />Admininstration Bureau <br />Oversees Human Resources, Budget, Records, Communications, and <br />Information Services. The Admin Bureau also oversees the Training <br />Division with a focus on developing and implementing de-escalation <br />techniques. Each Division within the Bureau provides specific <br />community services to our members, both sworn and civilian, and to the <br />citizens of Santa Ana. <br />Investigations Bureau <br />OverseesHomicide, Gangs, Sexual Assaults, Child Abuse, Domestic <br />Violence, Robbery, Burglary, Economic Crimes, Prosecution Unit, Vice, <br />Human Trafficking, Hate Crime, and Forensics.Crimes assigned to the <br />Bureau are investigated thoroughly until all leads are <br />exhausted.Investigations that identify a suspect are prepared for filing <br />with the District Attorney’s Office. <br />Field Operations Bureau <br />The largest and most visible Bureau of the Santa Ana Police <br />Department, the Bureau is comprised of the Patrol, Traffic, Community <br />Engagement and Homeland Security divisions, and a number of <br />specialized units that serve the community as first responders to a <br />myriad of field incidents, with a focus on community oriented and <br />traditional policing, youth services, and homelessness response. <br />Jail Bureau <br />Oversees Jail Operations, Prisoner Transport, Jail Records, and Support <br />Services. These units meet the incarceration needs of the Department, <br />supplying direct and indirect law enforcement assistance, and providing <br />for the safe, secure, and humane housing of persons incarcerated. <br /> <br /> <br />
