Futuro Now's Within My Reach curriculum on <br />key issues that pose barriers to students <br />■ On-site Licensed Clinical Social Worker counsels <br />students who are experiencing more serious <br />issues. <br />■ Track employability standards of punctuality and <br />program attendance. <br />Program Services <br />■ Provide 16 weeks of paid intensive job -training in <br />Taller San Jose, SAC, <br />7/2010 <br />6/2011 <br />the following: <br />CEC <br />o Construction- Apprentices acquire essential <br />hands-on skills in the building trades while <br />learning how to adhere to basic employment <br />principles. Led by a Licensed General <br />Contractor, training focuses on the fundamentals <br />and incorporates: safety awareness and training, <br />~ <br />m <br />industry related math proficiency, construction <br />theory, hands-on experience, adherence to <br />attendance policies, mentoring, job coaching, <br />w <br />and leadership development. Apprentices <br />participate in two hours of daily math training. <br />Classes concentrate on the algebra, geometry <br />and trigonometry needed for basic construction <br />principles, such as estimating material costs, <br />reading blueprints, rough carpentry, and so <br />forth. Upon enrollment, instructors assess <br />students' math abilities; on average students test <br />at a 6a' grade level. Upon program completion, <br />students experience an average increase of two <br />grade levels.
