Taller <br />San Jose certifies each graduate with 10 hours <br />of Occupational Safety and Health <br />Administration (OSHA) training. OSHA <br />training gives employees in the construction <br />industry the ability to minimize liability to the <br />company and also reduces employee risk. <br />o Medical Careers- Taller San Jose's Medical <br />Careers Academy trains youth as both <br />administrative and clinical medical assistants. <br />Classes include basic computer and the use of <br />Electronic Medical Record as well as additional <br />training with Medisoft, standard software used <br />in most private medical practices. The <br />m <br />administrative medical assistant curriculum <br />emphasizes medical terminology, health <br />m <br />insurance, record-keeping, telephone <br />K <br />techniques, customer safety, computer skills, <br />w <br />health safety, communication skills and <br />professionalism. Curriculum for the clinical <br />medical assistant training program teaches <br />students to measure vital signs, assist the <br />physician with procedures, administer <br />medications and give injections, record <br />electrocardiograms (ECGs), draw blood samples <br />and perform basic laboratory tests. Students <br />also learn medical terminology and anatomy, <br />basic math skills and medication dosage <br />calculations.
