<br />1. Experience/Qualifications
<br />StandUp for Kids OC (SUFK OC), founded in 2003, is located at 1055 El Camino Dr. Unit E, in Costa
<br />Mesa, CA. SUFK OC is one of 16 chapters belonging to the nati onal non-profit corporation StandUp for
<br />Kids, founded in 1990 , in San Diego. The organization and all of its chapters share a common mi ssion to
<br />end the cycle of youth homelessness. The SUFK national office provides the lo ca l chapters with back-
<br />end support including fundraising registrations, insurance, and website maintenance. The nati onal
<br />headquarters location is 200 Nelson Ferry Road , Suite B Decatur, GA 30030. Major cross streets are W
<br />Ponce de Leon Ave. and Nelson Ferry Road, Decatur, GA. StandUp for Kids Orange County is located
<br />at 1055 E l Camino Dr. Unit E, in Costa Mesa, CA. Major cross streets are Fairview Road and Baker
<br />Street, Costa Mesa, CA. Hours of operation include 24/7 crisis hotline support, youth nightly access, and
<br />M-F staff hours 8 AM-5PM. The facility is centrally located near the 405 Freeway and Fairview R oad
<br />for easy access by youth. There is a kitchen and pantry where we provide meals , snacks and emergency
<br />kits. There is ample space for studying with computer access and a large room for group meetings and
<br />meals.
<br />The SUFK OC average annual operating budget is $1,200,000. Funding Sources include Governmental-
<br />43.6%, Corporate-11 .9%, Private Donors-10.9%, Foundations-11.9%, Fundraising Events-10 .8%, In-
<br />Kind-7.9%, Civic/Religious/Other-3%.
<br />SUFK OC employs 13 professional staff, all located in the Costa Mesa, CA office. They have a
<br />combined 55 years of experience serv ing ex clus ivel y homeless and at-risk yo uth. See the SUFK OC
<br />Organization Chart in attachment CC-2. SUFK OC also employs 100+ trained volunteers that serve as
<br />mentors and tutors and support SUFK OC programs and operations. The volunteer workforce provided
<br />7 ,000 ho ur s of service in 2024.
<br />SUFK OC, founded in 2003, has extensive experience providing youth programs in Orange County. We
<br />prov ide 4 key services for youth: 1) Street Outreach, 2) Hous ing Support, 3) Mentoring including Work
<br />Experience and Job Training, and 4) Food Access. In 2024, we served 1,784 youth across 28 OC cities
<br />(31 % in Santa Ana). We serve homeless a nd at-ri s k school -age youth in 45 OC schools over the past 2
<br />years, plus we s erve ho mele ss students on campus, at 2 OC Community Colleges. In the past 5 years, we
<br />successfully completed over 25 government contracts; we met all service goals, expended all funds and
<br />had no audit findings.
<br />Over 21 years serving Orange Coun ty, we have seen thou sands of yo uth move from cri sis to self-
<br />sufficiency. We have seen hundred s of home less and at-risk school-age yo uth achieve high school
<br />graduation and become independent adults. In 2024 alone, SUFK OC served 1,782 youth, with 3 1 % in
<br />Santa Ana. 100% of our mentored sc hoo l-age yo uth graduate high school (2 37 enro ll ed in 2024) and 97%
<br />of our mentored yo uth, aged 18-24, remain stably-housed and self-sufficient at 1 year (34 3
