TASK 3-HABS-LIKE DOCUMENTION OI' SIXTEEN PROPERTIES <br />Work Efforts <br />Sapphos Environmental, laic. will prepare NABS-like documentation for 16 buildings located in <br />the Station Dishict that are identified for demolition as required in mitigation measure 4.4-3 of <br />the Mitigation Monitoring and Reporting Program for the City of Santa Ana Transit Zoning <br />Code EIR. In accordance with HABS requirements, documentation of each property will include <br />large format, black and white photography, written documentation and sketched floor plans. <br />Photographic efforts will document current conditions and will include up to eight (8) <br />photographs per building, including context, fapade, secondary elevations, and details. Written <br />documentation will adhere to an established HABS format and will include a significance <br />statement, historical information, brief historic context, architecture information, and sources. <br />Sapphos Environmental, Inc. will utilize existing historical research and background material to <br />the greatest extent feasible. Limited research will be performed in the Santa Ana building permit <br />records and at the Santa Ana library in order to complete the written documentation. Existing <br />architectural drawings, if available, will be included in the documentation packages as <br />supplemental information. If drawings are not available, sketched floor plans will be drawn. <br />The Screen Check HABS-like documentation packages will be submitted to the City for review. <br />Sapphos Environmental, Inc. will respond to one (1) set of comments and will prepare the final <br />documentation packages. All final products will be labeled, assembled, and produced on archival <br />media, as specified in the HABS standards regarding archival and reproducible materials. Four <br />(4)copies will be produced, one (1) for submittal to HABS in Washington, DC, and three (3) for <br />the City of Santa Ana for suggested distribution to the City of Santa Ana Planning Department, <br />Santa Ana Public Library History Room, and Santa Ana Historical Preservation Society. <br />Work Products <br />• One (1) Screen Check HABS-like documentation package for each of the 16 <br />properties, to be submitted elecrionically in PDF <br />• Four (4) archival hard copies of final HABS-like documentation packages of each of <br />the 16 properties (one of each property to be submitted to HABS in Washington, <br />DC, and three of each property to be submitted to the City in binder format for <br />distribution) <br />ESTIMATED COST <br />This cost estimate has been prepared based on the following assumptions: <br />• Assumption #1: The City of Santa Ana Community Development Agency will provide <br />available data, including architectural drawings and historical information. <br />• Assumption #2: The City of Santa Ana will an•ange access to the properties to be <br />documented and will provide notification to residents and neighbors as appropriate. <br />l0 3-12 <br />
