By fostering leadership and teamwork skills,TCCDC prepares participants to navigate their financial futures and become role models and advocates for their peers, creating a ripple effect throughout the community. Further, TCCDC recognizes that financial empowerment requires access to community resources and support systems.To this end,TCCDC actively collaborates with local financial institutions to provide participants with practical resources such as financial coaching, case management,and referrals to reputable banking services. These partnerships extend the reach and effectiveness of BOY by ensuring that all participants have the tools necessary to succeed in their financial journeys. Exemplifying these efforts,TCCDC works with these partners throughout the program to support participants in an entrepreneurial activity where they work together in teams to design business plans which will be evaluated at the Small Business Competition held during the Graduation Ceremony in the Spring. TCCDC plans to further enhance the BOY Program by merging our very successful financial literacy and parenting training program, Legado Academy as part of the BOY program.This new model will requiringe parents and legal guardians of participating students to commit to attending three five-hour sessions that mirror the financial literacy curriculum afforded to the youth. During these sessions, parents will receive comprehensive training, paired with individualized attention through a structured mentor-mentee segment where they will be assigned to a mentor for more personalized guidance.This mentor will support parents in understanding financial concepts, answering questions, and assisting them in creating personalized budgets. In addition to the core financial literacy curriculum,the program will introduce a first-time homeownership seminar for parents, addressing one of the critical barriers faced by families seeking stability and wealth-building opportunities. As the BOY program expands and upon completing the financial literacy courses, parents will be strongly encouraged to pursue extended training.TCCDC will leverage our established connections with parents and community partners to drive enrollment in TCCDC's Legado Academy,an evidence-based financial education and parenting training program.Through its specialized training, Legado Academy educates parents on essential financial literacy skills,effective parenting techniques,and ways to create nurturing environments conducive to healthy child development.This comprehensive family-focused approach is an essential differentiator for TCCDC, as it allows us to provide wrap-around services that effectively shift the longstanding economic narrative for low- income residents in our community.This integration will not only empower youth but also engage their families in a multigenerational wealth-building approach that will ensure lasting impacts on household financial stability and community resilience.Reflecting TCCDC's commitment to serving the generational needs of families, integrating the Legado Academy into the BOY program expands our efforts to empower entire families.This multigenerational wealth-building model will help families discuss financial topics openly, set common financial goals,and support each other through the ups and downs of their economic empowerment journey. By investing in both the current generation and those who will follow,TCCDC is committed to fostering lasting change, ultimately transforming lives and uplifting the whole community. Lastly, the culmination of the BOY program will take place with a Graduation Ceremony that spotlights student participants as they showcase their business plans in a competitive setting reminiscent of"Shark Tank," where college scholarships will be awarded.This event not only honors the attainment of knowledge and skills but also highlights the power of family collaboration,with both parents and children walking the stage together during the graduation ceremony.
