Box 1988 <br />Santa Ana, California 92702 <br />www.santa-ana.org/pba <br /> <br />NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING <br />BEFORE THE SANTA ANA HISTORIC RESOURCES COMMISSION <br /> <br />Historic Resources Commission Action: The Historic Resources Commission will hold a Public <br />Hearing to receive public testimony, and will take action on the item described below. Their decision is <br />final unless appealed to the City Council within 10 days of the decision by any interested party or group. <br /> <br />Project Location: 1102, 1104, 1106, 1108, 1110, 1112, 1114 N. Lacy Street and 425-427 E. <br />Wellington Avenue (collectively 1102 N. Lacy Street), located within the <br />Specific Development (SD-19) district zone. <br /> <br />Project Applicant: Eric & Justin Novakovich (Applicant) on behalf of Wellington HoldCo, LLC <br />(Property Owner) <br /> <br />Project Description: The applicant is requesting approval of a Historic Exterior Modification <br />Application (HEMA) for a historic property (known as the Dehne Apts. No 1) that is a contributor to <br />French Park National Register District. Applicant is proposing exterior changes to an existing apartment <br />building. The proposed changes include the removal of original wood windows, rear doors, concrete <br />steps, and two wood staircases with balconies at the rear. A previously removed wood staircase will be <br />rebuilt and two other wood stairs will be modified with wood to match existing with slight changes to <br />meet the building code. <br />Environmental Impact: Pursuant to the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and the CEQA <br />Guidelines, the project is exempt from further review under Section 15331, Class 31, as this action is <br />designed to preserve a historic resource. Categorical Exemption No. ER-2022-97 will be filed for this <br />project. <br />Meeting Details: This matter will be heard on Thursday, October 5, 2023, at 4:30 p.m. in the City <br />Council Chambers, 22 Civic Center Plaza, Santa Ana, CA 92701. Members of the public may attend <br />this meeting in-person or join via Zoom.
