<br />RESOURCES COMMISSION
<br />The City of Santa Ana encourages the
<br />public to participate in the decision-
<br />making process. We encourage you to
<br />contact us prior to the Public Hearing if
<br />you have any questions.
<br />Historic Resources Commission
<br />Action: The Historic Resources
<br />Commission will hold a Public Hearing to
<br />receive public testimony, and will take
<br />action on the item described below. Their
<br />decision is final unless appealed to the
<br />City Council within 10 days of the decision
<br />by any interested party or group.
<br />Project Location:222 South Cypress
<br />Avenue located within the Multiple Family
<br />Residence (R3) zoning district.
<br />Project Applicant:Lucas, Jeffrey, and
<br />Donna Gage (Property Owners)
<br />Project Description:Applicants are
<br />requesting approval of Historic Exterior
<br />Modification Application (HEMA) No.
<br />2024-02 for the above property. The
<br />Property is known as the Dinsmore House
<br />and is listed on the City's historic register
<br />in the Key Category. Exterior
<br />modifications include restoring all existing
<br />vinyl windows to wood windows; legalizing
<br />the rear porch enclosure; and replacing
<br />the non-historic metal handrail at the rear
<br />porch with a new wood railing consistent
<br />with existing wood railings elsewhere on
<br />the house. As part of the window
<br />restoration, existing window trim for all
<br />historical windows would be modified as
<br />needed to match original window trim
<br />dimensions and materials.
<br />Environmental Impact:Pursuant to the
<br />California Environmental Quality Act
<br />(CEQA) and the CEQA Guidelines, the
<br />project is exempt from further review
<br />under Section 15331, Class 31, as this
<br />action is designed to preserve a historic
<br />resource. Notice of Exemption,
<br />Environmental Review No. 2024-84 will
<br />be filed for this project.

<br />heard on Thursday, November 7, 2024,
<br />at 4:30 p.m.in City Hall, Ross Annex,
<br />Conference Room 1600, 20 Civic Center
<br />Plaza, Santa Ana, CA 92701.Members
