Box 1988 <br />Santa Ana, California 92702 <br />www.santa-ana.org/pba <br /> <br />NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING <br />BEFORE THE SANTA ANA HISTORIC RESOURCES COMMISSION <br /> <br />Historic Resources Commission Action: The Historic Resources Commission will hold a Public <br />Hearing to receive public testimony, and will take action on the item described below. Their decision is <br />final unless appealed to the City Council within 10 days of the decision by any interested party or group. <br /> <br />Project Location: 222 South Cypress Avenue located within the Multiple Family Residence <br />(R3) zoning district. <br /> <br />Project Applicant: Lucas, Jeffrey, and Donna Gage (Property Owners) <br /> <br />Project Description: Applicants are requesting approval of Historic Exterior Modification <br />Application (HEMA) No. 2024-02 for the above property. The Property is known as the Dinsmore House <br />and is listed on the City’s historic register in the Key Category. Exterior modifications include restoring <br />all existing vinyl windows to wood windows; legalizing the rear porch enclosure; and replacing the non- <br />historic metal handrail at the rear porch with a new wood railing consistent with existing wood railings <br />elsewhere on the house. As part of the window restoration, existing window trim for all historical <br />windows would be modified as needed to match original window trim dimensions and materials. <br /> <br />Environmental Impact: Pursuant to the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and the CEQA <br />Guidelines, the project is exempt from further review under Section 15331, Class 31, as this action is <br />designed to preserve a historic resource. Notice of Exemption, Environmental Review No. 2024-84 will <br />be filed for this project. <br /> <br />Meeting Details: This matter will be heard on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at 4:30 p.m. in City Hall, <br />Ross Annex, Conference Room 1600, 20 Civic Center Plaza, Santa Ana, CA 92701. Members of the <br />public may attend this meeting in-person or join via Zoom.
