<br />BEFORE THE SANTA ANA HISTORIC
<br />RESOURCES COMMISSION
<br />The City of Santa Ana encourages the
<br />public to participate in the decision-
<br />making process. We encourage you to
<br />contact us prior to the Public Hearing if
<br />you have any questions.
<br />Historic Resources Commission
<br />Action: The Historic Resources
<br />Commission will hold a Public Hearing to
<br />receive public testimony, and will take
<br />action on the item described below. Their
<br />decision is final unless appealed to the
<br />City Council within 10 days of the decision
<br />by any interested party or group.
<br />Project Location:2208 North Flower
<br />Street located within the Single Family
<br />Residential (R1) zoning district.
<br />Project Applicant:Vy Lam Han &
<br />Stephanie Tuhan Phan (Property Owners)
<br />Project Description:Applicants are
<br />requesting approval for Historic Exterior
<br />Modification Application (HEMA) No.
<br />2024-04 for the property known as the
<br />C.J. Young House, which is part of the
<br />National Register-listed Floral Park
<br />Historic District. The proposed interior
<br />remodel of the single-family residence
<br />includes the demolition of partition walls
<br />and reconfiguration of the floor plan to
<br />accommodate the kitchen, dining room,
<br />family room, primary bedroom, and
<br />laundry room. The exterior work includes
<br />removal of existing windows, removal of a
<br />sliding door, removal of wood windows
<br />and a swing door, and installation of new
<br />steel windows and metal door/sliding
<br />doors. Work to also include removal of an
<br />existing window for the detached garage,
<br />and legalizing previously unpermitted
<br />changes to the detached garage,
<br />including removal of sliding door.
<br />Environmental Impact:Pursuant to the
<br />California Environmental Quality Act
<br />(CEQA) and the CEQA Guidelines, the
<br />project is exempt from further review
<br />under Section 15331, Class 31, as this
<br />action is designed to preserve a historic
<br />resource. Notice of Exemption,
<br />Environmental Review No. 2024-85 will
<br />be filed for this project.

<br />heard on Thursday, November 7, 2024,
<br />at 4:30 p.m.in City Hall, Ross Annex,
<br />Conference Room 1600, 20 Civic Center
