Flores, Dora
From: Ale Astoquilca <
Sent: Tuesday, September 16, 2025 2:55 PM
To: eComment
Subject: Urgent Concerns Regarding Street Closures and Parking Increases
Importance: High
Attention: This email originated from outside of City of Santa Ana. Use caution when opening attachments or links.
Dear City Council,
I am reaching out to express serious concerns regarding the recent challenges that are directly impacting my
business and the 26 vendors I house and represent.
To be 100% honest, YES we absolutely lose business from street closures, as they cut off customer access and
visibility, directly reducing our sales. Parking continues to be a major problem for both staff and customers,
making it unnecessarily difficult for people to come and go. On top of that, the monthly parking rate has nearly
doubled, creating an unreasonable financial burden.
These issues do not only affect me as a business owner, they also affect the 26 vendors whose livelihoods
depend on this location. I have a responsibility to be their voice, and the reality is that these combined
challenges are harming us all in a significant and unsustainable way.
Additionally, we urgently need better and LARGER signage to clearly direct people to available parking and to
provide proper guidance during street closures or events. Without clear visibility and direction, customers
become frustrated and often choose not to return, which only worsens the losses we already face.
I strongly urge you to take these concerns into account and consider solutions that support small businesses and
the many people who rely on them.
Thank you,
Ale Astoquilca
219 E. 4th St
Santa Ana, CA 92701
Cell: (714) 475-2065
ale@collective2one9.com
Disclaimer
The information contained in this communication from the sender is confidential.
