COMMISSIONER COMMENTS, <br />Commissioner Sarmiento <br />• Welcomed new student member Andrew Engler to the Commission <br />• Expressed his appreciation for the Charette meetings and also asked that <br />the Commission's gratitude be conveyed to the Planning and Building staff. <br />He mentioned that he did not notice any use of translators nor anyone <br />taking minutes. <br />Mentioned the upcoming visit to the Commission by Moule & Polyzoides <br />Architects, the consultant on the Renaissance Specific Pian, and inquired <br />as to how this meeting could be noticed so that more citizens could be <br />made aware. Mrs. Whitaker mentioned utilizing COMM Lirik and the <br />neighborhood associations and will ask Planning and Building for any other <br />suggestions. <br />Mentioned Elsa Gomez prevailing in her lawsuit against the City. <br />Informed everyone of the ribbon cutting/grand opening of the Saddleback <br />View Park on May 20 at ~ 1 a.m. <br />Vice-Chair erson Stroud <br />• Wished to (hank Planning & Building staff for coordinating the Charette <br />meetings. <br />• Mentioned that three major Downtown business owners voiced their <br />concerns about the Downtown businesses not being notified. Mrs. <br />Whitaker replied that Moule & Polyzoides, the consultant, and Planning & <br />Building staff will be contacting various Downtown business leaders and <br />scheduling a meeting. <br />Asked how the City is marketed. Mrs. Whitaker explained that Linda <br />Summers, Economic Development Manager, is responsible for, and has <br />been working on, the City's marketing plan.
