• <br /> MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING <br /> BETWEEN THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AND <br /> THE SANTA ANA POLICE OFFICERS ASSOCIATION <br /> FOR FISCAL YEARS 1993-94 , AND 1994-95 <br /> ARTICLE I - RECOGNITION <br /> Pursuant to the provision of the Meyers-Milias-Brown Act , <br /> Government Code Section 3500 , et seq. , the City of Santa Ana <br /> (hereinafter called the "City" ) has recognized the Santa Ana Police <br /> Officers Association (herein called the "Association" ) as the <br /> recognized representative of the bargaining unit which includes <br /> police department employees in the sworn, "safety-member" <br /> classifications and assignments of Police Officer, Senior Police <br /> Officer, Police Sergeant, Senior Police Sergeant and in the non- <br /> sworn, "miscellaneous-member" classifications and assignments of <br /> Animal Control Officer I and II, Background Investigator, Darkroom <br /> Technician, Detention Officer, Forensic Specialist I and II , <br /> Forensic Services Supervisor, Parking Control Officer, Police <br /> Communications Supervisor, Police Community Services Specialist, <br /> Police Information Officer, Police Investigative Specialist, Police <br /> Property and Evidence Specialist, Police Property and Evidence <br /> Supervisor, Police Recruit, Police Service Assistant, Police <br /> Service Officer, Police Services Dispatcher, Rangemaster, Senior <br /> Detention Officer, Senior Parking Control Officer, and Traffic <br /> Services Specialist and excludes all other non-sworn employees of <br /> the Police Department and sworn, "safety-member" police classes of <br /> Police Lieutenant, Police Captain and Police Chief . <br /> ARTICLE II - NON-DISCRIMINATION CLAUSE <br /> Section 1 . The City and Association agree that they shall not <br /> discriminate against any employee because of race, color, sex, age, <br /> national origin, political or religious opinions or affiliations, <br /> or in violation of Government Code Sec . 3500 et seq. The City and <br /> the Association shall reopen any provision of this Agreement for <br /> the purpose of complying with any order of a Federal or State <br /> agency or court of competent jurisdiction requiring a modification <br /> or change in any provisions of this Agreement in compliance with <br /> State or Federal anti-discrimination laws . <br /> Section 2 . Whenever reference is made to the masculine gender <br /> it shall be understood to include the feminine gender, unless <br /> expressly stated otherwise . <br /> ARTICLE III - ATTENDANCE, WORKDAY AND WORKWEEK <br /> 1 <br />
