C. Workweek Schedule During Schedule Changes. Effective upon the <br /> execution of this Agreement, the City agrees to implement the following policy <br /> when scheduling days off during shift, assignment or other schedule changes; <br /> Except in cases of emergency or other situations requiring unscheduled overtime <br /> duty, the City agrees, when rescheduling days off for employees to be affected <br /> by a shift, work assignment or other schedule changes, to schedule no more and <br /> no less than five (5) regular and normal workdays, as defined in subsection A <br /> above, during any calendar week; however, and except in cases of emergency, no <br /> employee shall be scheduled to work more than five (5) consecutive days without <br /> the employee's consent. It is the intent of the parties that each employee so <br /> affected, shall receive two (2) consecutive days off whenever practical. <br /> For purposes of this subsection, a calendar week begins at 0001 hours on <br /> Sunday and ends at 2400 hours on the following Saturday. <br /> ARTICLE IV - SALARIES <br /> Section 1. Basic Compensation Plan. There is hereby established a basic <br /> compensation plan for all members of the Santa Ana Police Benevolent Association <br /> who are now employed or will in the future be employed in any of the designated <br /> classifications of employment listed in this Agreement and its attachments. <br /> Section 2. Salary Schedule. The basic salary schedule, attached <br /> hereto in a matrix format as Exhibit A, and made a part hereof as though set forth <br /> in full herein, provides numerous salary rate ranges, each comprised of five (5) <br /> steps or rates of pay. <br /> The respective rate ranges are identified by a three digit number. The steps <br /> within each range are identified by the letters "A" through "E" inclusive, with <br /> the "A" step being the lowest step in the range. The purpose of each step and the <br /> length of service required for advancement to the next higher step within a parti- <br /> cular salary rate range are set forth in Section 7 below. <br /> Section 3. Salaries <br /> A. Effective July 1, 1981, the base salaries of employees covered <br /> by this Agreement shall be increased by twelve percent (12%) (24 salary rate <br /> ranges) . <br /> B. Effective July 1, 1981, the base salaries of employees in the <br /> classes of Evidence and Property Clerk and Police (Emergency) Services Dispatchers <br /> shall be increased an additional five percent (5%) (10 salary rate ranges) above <br /> the increase granted in subsection A above. <br /> C. Effective July 1, 1982, the base salary of each employee as <br /> adjusted above shall be increased by eight percent (8%) (16 salary rate ranges) . <br /> The assignement of classes to salary rate ranges during the term of this <br /> Agreement resulting from said increases are listed in Exhibit B, which is attached <br /> and made a part hereof as though set forth in full herein. <br /> - 2 - <br />
