Section 2. Definitions. <br /> A. Workday. Eight (8) hours of work shall <br /> constitute a regular and normal workday for all employees. <br /> The regular and normal workday for sworn, "safety-member" <br /> police personnel assigned to Traffic and Patrol shall be a <br /> tour of duty of eight and one-half (8 1/2) hours with one- <br /> half (1/2) hour for meals (Code 7 time) and for all others <br /> nine (9) hours with one (1) hour for Code 7 time, which Code <br /> 7 time shall not be considered overtime and is not otherwise <br /> compensable except as provided in the Settlement Agreement <br /> executed by the parties hereto on November 21, 1977, and <br /> including Field Operations Divisional Order No. 15, dated <br /> February 15, 1978, .and attached to said Settlement Agreement <br /> as "Exhibit A. " <br /> B. Minimum Workweek. The minimum workweek for <br /> all employees covered by this Agreement shall consist of <br /> forty (4D) hours. • <br /> C. ' Study of 4-1D Plan. The parties will con- <br /> tinue to investigate the 'feasibility of operating the Depart- <br /> ment or portions thereof under a schedule where employees <br /> work four days per week, ten hours a day® <br /> ARTICLE IV _ SALARIES <br /> Section 1. Basic Compensation Plan. There is hereby <br /> established a basic compensation plan for all members of the <br /> Santa Ana Police Benevolent Association who are now employed <br /> or will in the future be employed in any of the designated <br /> classifications of employment listed .in this Agreement and <br /> its attachments. <br /> Section 2. "Salaries. Salaries of affected employees <br /> during the term of this Agreement are listed in Exhibit A. <br /> -- <br /> Section 3. The salary and wage rate ranges shown in <br /> Exhibit "A shall constitute the basic compensation plan <br /> consisting of five (5) steps or rates' of -pay in each rate <br /> range. <br /> The 'respective 'rate' 'ranges are identified by number and <br /> the steps by the letters "A" to "E" inclusive. The columnar <br /> heads at the top of each column shall establish the purpose <br /> of each step and the -length of service required for advance- <br /> ment to the next higher step as provided in Section 7 hereof. <br /> -2- <br />
