B . Work Period. For those employees working 11 hours <br /> and 30 minutes a day, the "work period" will consist of two <br /> consecutive weeks with 3 shifts of 11 hours and 30 minutes in one <br /> week and 4 shifts of 11 hours and 30 minutes in the second week. <br /> The total hours for these two consecutive weeks shall be considered <br /> equalling eighty (80) hours and thirty (30) minutes . <br /> However, the one-half hour worked beyond 80 hours of work in <br /> a two week period shall be added to the employee' s vacation time . <br /> If during the two week work period, an employee is on leave without <br /> pay he/she will not be eligible for one-half hour (1/2) of vacation <br /> accrual . The employee, however, will be given early release to <br /> make up for time worked beyond 80 hours . <br /> C. Work Schedule During Schedule Changes . The City <br /> agrees to continue the following policy when scheduling days off <br /> during shift, assignment or other schedule changes : except in <br /> cases of emergency or other situations requiring days off, the City <br /> may schedule employees impacted by a shift, work assignments or <br /> other schedule changes, to no more than four (4) regular and normal <br /> workdays, as defined in subsection "A" above, during any calendar <br /> week; however, and except in cases of emergency, no employee shall <br /> be scheduled to work more than four (4) consecutive days without <br /> the employee' s consent . It is the intent of the parties that each <br /> employee so affected, shall receive three (3) consecutive days off <br /> whenever practical . <br /> D. Changes/Modifications . In that the 3 day 11 hours <br /> and 30 minutes and 4 day 11 hours and 30 minutes schedule may need <br /> modification during the life of this agreement to meet department <br /> and community needs, said changes shall be made at the discretion <br /> of the Chief of Police or his designee (s) after meeting and <br /> conferring in good faith with the Association. <br /> E . Alternative Work Week Schedule (s) <br /> (Police Chief' s discretion) <br /> Effective no later than the first of the month following the <br /> first full month after agreement (which is December 1, 1996) <br /> implementation of alternative work schedules shall be implemented <br /> on a trial basis and at the Police chief' s discretion. <br /> It is agreed that implementation shall begin no later than <br /> December 1, 1996 for the following: <br /> a . Traffic section <br /> b . Investigations Division (except special <br /> investigations assigned to the Chief' s office) . <br /> c. Canine officers <br /> For employees assigned to a 4/10 work schedule, 10-1/2 hours <br /> shall constitute a regular work day, except for employees in <br /> designated assignments, for whom the work day shall constitute 11 <br /> 4 <br />
