r SCOPE OF WORK <br /> All crosswalks at signalized intersections with wheelchair ramps shall be <br /> striped with a 5' diagonal (451 cut-off at the curb return, as shown in CSASP <br /> No. 1130. Crosswalk stripes shall be 12 inches wide. <br /> B. Removal <br /> Existing striping, pavement markings, curb marking and RPM superseded <br /> by the plans shall be removed. All conflicting striping within limit of project <br /> shall be removed even if not shown on the plan. <br /> Removal of traffic stripes and pavement markings shall be by micro-grinding <br /> or wet sandblasting. Existing striping and pavement markings, which are <br /> removed by micro grinding or sandblasting, shall be completely removed to <br /> the satisfaction of the Project Manager or Designee. <br /> All removal areas shall be slurry sealed by rubberized slurry seal. Slurry seal <br /> shall cover from lane line to lane line unless directed otherwise by the <br /> Project Manager or Designee. <br /> C. Temporary Striping <br /> The Contractor shall install temporary traffic striping within 24-hours after <br /> paving the street or on any unstriped lanes opened to traffic. Public traffic <br /> shall not be allowed on any multilane arterial street without temporary or <br /> permanent striping. <br /> Temporary striping can be per CSASP Plan No. 112513-1 and B-2 (without <br /> the RPM's) or by installing reflectorized chip seal markers (single for 4" line, <br /> double for 8" line) at 20 feet on center when on a taper or curve, and at 40 <br /> feet on center elsewhere. If striping is used, stripes can be paint or <br /> temporary traffic striping tape. <br /> All temporary striping shall be removed prior to the final striping. <br /> D. Final Striping <br /> All final stripes, legends, including limit lines, shall be permanently striped <br /> within 72 hours after the street has received the final surface course or after <br /> legends have been removed for re-striping. <br /> Any existing striping to remain including striping on cross streets, which is <br /> disturbed during construction, shall be re-striped as necessary, even if not <br /> shown on the channelization plans. <br /> All striping and related roadside signage shall be in place prior to opening <br /> the lane(s)to public traffic. Paint shall be dry, as to not allow tracking of paint <br /> onto city streets and right of way. <br /> City of Santa Ana Page 11 of 71 <br />
