The <br />following discussion provides a brief synopsis of these key area streets. The descriptions are based <br />on an inventory of existing roadway conditions. <br /> <br />Harbor Boulevard is a six-lane divided roadway, north of Sunflower Avenue, a seven-lane divided <br />roadway between Sunflower Avenue and South Coast Drive, and an eight-lane divided roadway <br />south of South Coast Drive. Harbor Boulevard is oriented in the north-south direction, located to the <br />west of the Project site. Parking is not permitted along either side of this roadway in the vicinity of <br />the proposed project. The posted speed limit on Harbor Boulevard is 40 miles per hour (mph). <br />Traffic signals control the study intersections of Harbor Boulevard at Macarthur Boulevard, Scenic <br />Avenue/Lake Center Drive, Sunflower Avenue, and South Coast Drive. The intersection of Harbor <br />Boulevard at SOCO Harbor Drive is stop-controlled. <br /> <br />MacArthur Boulevard is a six-lane divided roadway oriented in the east-west direction, located to <br />the north of the Project site. The posted speed limit on MacArthur Boulevard is 45 mph west of <br />Harbor Boulevard and 40 mph east of Harbor Boulevard. Parking is not permitted along either side <br />of the roadway in the vicinity of the proposed project. A traffic signal controls the study <br />intersections of MacArthur Boulevard at Harbor Boulevard. The intersection of MacArthur <br />Boulevard at Lake Center Drive is stop-controlled. <br /> <br />Lake Center Drive is a two-lane divided roadway oriented in the east-west direction. Lake Center <br />Drive borders the Project site to the north. The posted speed limit on Lake Center Drive is generally <br />35 mph within the vicinity of the proposed Project. Parking is not permitted along either side of the <br />roadway in the vicinity of the proposed project. A traffic signal controls the study intersections of <br />Lake Center Drive at Harbor Boulevard. The intersections of Lake Center Drive at SOCO Harbor <br />Drive, Susan Street, and MacArthur Boulevard are stop-controlled. <br /> <br />Sunflower Avenue is a four-lane, divided roadway oriented in the east-west direction, located to the <br />south of the Project site. The posted speed limit on Sunflower Avenue is 40 mph in the vicinity of <br />the proposed Project. Parking is not permitted along either side of the roadway. A traffic signal <br />controls the study intersection of Sunflower Avenue at Harbor Boulevard. <br /> <br />South Coast Drive is a four-lane divided roadway oriented in the east-west direction, located to the <br />south of the Project site. The posted speed limit on South Coast Drive is 40 mph in the vicinity of the <br />proposed Project. Parking is not permitted along either side of the roadway in the vicinity of the <br />proposed project. A traffic signal controls the study intersection of South Coast Drive at Harbor <br />Boulevard. <br /> <br />
