criteria for the Police Career Development Program designations as set out <br /> in this Article. <br /> C. The Senior Police Officer I-III and Senior Police Sergeant I-III provisions set forth <br /> in sections 6.3 — 6.8 below apply to sworn employees in the bargaining unit hired <br /> by the City of Santa Ana into a sworn position prior to January 1,2014. The Career <br /> Development Pay provided for in section 6.10 below is for sworn members of the <br /> bargaining unit hired into a sworn position with the City of Santa Ana on or after <br /> January 1, 2014. <br /> 6.3 Senior Police Officer I. Any sworn, safety-member Police Officer, regardless of duty <br /> assignment, who completes (acquires) at least sixty (60) educational/training units fulfills <br /> the requirements established in this section shall be designated as a Senior Police Officer I <br /> and shall, upon approval of the Police Chief, be paid seven and one half percent (7.5%) of <br /> base pay. <br /> 6.4 Senior Police Officer Il. Any sworn, safety-member Police Officer, regardless of duty <br /> assignment, who completes (acquires) at least ninety (90) educational/training units; or <br /> possession of an Associate of Arts degree from an accredited college with an additional <br /> thirty(30) or more educational/training units shall be designated as a Senior Police Officer <br /> II and shall,upon approval of the Police Chief,be paid twelve and one half percent(12.5%) <br /> of base pay. <br /> 6.5 Senior Police Officer 111. Any sworn, safety-member Police Officer, regardless of duty <br /> assignment, who completes (acquires) at least one hundred and twenty (120) <br /> educational/training units; or possession of an Associate of Arts degree from an accredited <br /> college with an additional sixty(60)or more educational/training units shall,upon approval <br /> of the Police Chief, be designated as a Senior Police Officer III and shall be paid fifteen <br /> percent (15%) of base pay. <br /> 6.6 Senior Police Sergeant . Any officer holding the rank of Police Sergeant in the Santa Ana <br /> Police Department, regardless of duty assignment, who completes (acquires) at least sixty <br /> (60) educational/training units; shall be designated as a Senior Police Sergeant I and shall, <br /> upon approval of the Police Chief,be paid seven and one half percent(7.5%) of base pay. <br /> 6.7 Senior Police Sergeant 11. Any officer holding the rank of Police Sergeant in the Santa <br /> Ana Police Department, regardless of duty assignment, who completes (acquires) at least <br /> ninety (90) educational/training units; or possession of an Associate of Arts degree from <br /> an accredited college with an additional thirty(30) or more educational/training units shall, <br /> upon approval of the Police Chief, be designated as a Senior Police Sergeant Il and shall <br /> be paid twelve and one half percent(12.5%) of base pay. <br /> 6.8 Senior Police Sergeant III.
