GOAL 3 – HOUSING ASSISTANCE <br />Goal 3 <br />Increase opportunities for extremely low-, very low-, low-, and moderate-income <br />individuals and families to find affordable housing, and afford a greater choice of re ntal <br />and homeownership opportunities. <br />Policies <br />HE-3.2 – Homeownership <br />Expand homeownership opportunities for low- and moderate-income residents and <br />workers in Santa Ana through the provision of financial assistance, education, and <br />collaborative partnerships. <br />HE-3.3 – Housing Preservation <br />Initiate and support collaborative partnerships with nonprofit organizations with a <br />mission to provide affordable housing, identify state and federal funding, subordinate <br />existing loans, and offer technical assistance to preserve the low and moderate <br />affordability of publicly subsidized affordable housing at risk of conversion. <br />HE-3.5 – Collaborative Partnerships <br />Collaborate with nonprofit organizations, community land trusts, developers, and other <br />government agencies to develop and provide affordable housing for residents. <br />HE-3.7 – Workforce Housing <br />Explore opportunities for creating workforce housing, including for teachers, artists, and <br />other residents working in Santa Ana. <br /> <br />IV.
