Narrative: Narrative On 11/04/20, at approximately 0135 hours, a Custodial Death investigation was initiated within the Santa Ana Detention Facility (SADF).During investigation into this incident, SADF Correctional Officer C. Fernandez #3142 was identified as SADF staff member who found the decedent, later identified as , unresponsive in his cell: D24. Subsequent to being found in the aforementioned condition, was transported to an area hospital for medical treatment and later pronounced deceased with s During investigation into J eath, I was partnered with Orange County District Attorney Investigator (DA Inv.) C. Brower and assigned Canvassing/Interviewing duties.Inclusive in these duties was the interview of inmates housed in SADF housing cells positioned in close proximity to hese interviews, furthermore, were conducted separately and in a conference room as located within the D module of the associated detention facility and audio-recorded.Subsequent to the interviews, copies of said recordings were retained by DA Inv. Brower for posterity/evidentiary purposes.Below is a synopsis of the information provided by the aforementioned inmates.For complete details in regard to their statements, please see the above indicated recordings.
