No rounds were iii the chamber of the <br />AR15. <br />Summary <br />On 03/1 1/15, Santa Aria Police Officers were dispatched to reference a shooting tliat had <br />just occrirred. Responding officers located a velffcle matching the description in the area of Main Street <br />and Pine Street. The vehicle stopped on the 300 block of Sorith Main Street. Shortly after, officers <br />advised cotninunications that aii officer involved shooting had occrirred. <br />Narrative <br />Wednesday March 10, 2015 1300 hours <br />I was at my work station when I heard a radio broadcast of an officer involved shooting. <br />1405 hours <br />Sergeant G. Serrano #2338 conducted a briefing at the Santa Ana Police Depaitment for Homicide Unit <br />Detectives. He provided tlie la'iown details of the incident and investigation. I was assigned to liandle the <br />crinie scene. All detectives left the police station and responded to the scene. <br />1430 hours <br />I arrived at the scene of the officer involved shooting. I entered tlie crime scene through Pine Street and <br />Sycamore Street. I checked in with the crime scene scribe, Officer E. Martinez #3349. <br />1513 hours <br />District Attorney Investigator M. Gutierrez presided over the briefing. Present for the briefing were <br />ii'ivestigators from the Orange County District Attorney's Office, Santa Aria Police Depaitment <br />detectives, Santa Ana Police Department Internal Affairs inspectors, and Orange County Sherif:f's Criine <br />Laboratory personnel. Santa Ana Police Sergeant J. Smith #1998 provided a briefing of tlie incident and <br />tlie initial investigation conducted by patrol officers. <br />Sergeant J. Smith related that at 1250 horirs, a female called the Santa Ana Police Department to report <br />one shot fired and two males fighting at in Santa Ana. At 1251 hours, Officer S. Diaz <br />#3147, Officer M. Gibbons #2990 ai'id Officer E. Majors #2666 were dispatched to the call. A second <br />female named called and described the suspect vehicle as a white Toyota pickup truck. At 1255 <br />hours, Ofc J. Berwanger #2001 observed a white Toyota pichip truck license # northbound <br />Main Street at Bishop Street. Sergeant J. Smith said the vehicle came to stop at Main Street and Pine <br />Street becarise of stopped traffic. At 1256 hoirs, officers advised the driver of tlie tiauck was armed with <br />a gun and pointii'ig it at his cl'ffn. At 1300 hours, officers advised an officer involved shooting took place. <br />Sergeant J. Smith was not at the scene and did not obtain a safety statement from any of the officers. <br />Sergeant J. Smith related tliat five officers fired rounds in the incident. He identified the officers as; <br />Officer N. Quijas #2958, Officer D. Enriqriez, Officer D. Garcia #3231, Officer R. Sifflett #3264 aiid <br />Officer W. Sweet #1805. <br />At the conclusion of the briefing I was paired with Investigator D. Cabrera and Investigator M.
