And are they department <br />issued? <br />QUIJAS: They are department issued and as far as, uh, the brand you mean? <br />SMITH: Yes. <br />QUIJAS: Um, typically I think they’re Winchester. <br />SMITH: Okay. Did you check your duty weapon on the date of this incident before <br />going in service? <br />QUIJAS: Yes. <br />SMITH: Can you describe how you do that and what it is? <br />QUIJAS: Uh, before I go what we call 10-8 in service, uh, I do what I refer to as a <br />press check to, uh, make sure that there’s a round in the chamber. <br />SMITH: Do you carry a backup weapon? <br />QUIJAS: Right now no. <br />SMITH: Were you carrying one on that day? <br />QUIJAS: No. <br />SMITH: What about a taser, were you carrying a taser that day? <br />QUIJAS: Yes. <br />SMITH: Uh, was that M26 or X26 model? <br />QUIJAS: I think the X. <br />SMITH: Okay. Uh, before going 10-8 did you test the taser?
