EXHIBIT 2 <br /> In event that non-standard features become apparent during the initial design, Consultant shall <br /> prepare the necessary design exceptions following SCRRA, Caltrans and the respective <br /> agency's guidelines. <br /> 5. SITE SURVEY <br /> All surveying work shall be performed by a Licensed Surveyor registered in the State of <br /> California and shall be performed by Consultant in accordance with the current Caltrans <br /> "Survey Manual" and its revisions. Work not covered by the manual shall be performed in <br /> accordance with accepted professional surveying standards. The Consultant shall be <br /> responsible to verify datum with the City. Consultant shall obtain applicable encroachment <br /> permits prior to beginning any field investigation. Consultant and Subconsultants shall obtain <br /> necessary training including applicable rail safety program prior to performing field <br /> investigations. All said training shall be at the sole cost of the Consultant and at no additional <br /> cost to the City. Additionally, if a traffic control plan is required, Consultant shall prepare the <br /> plan. Such documents shall be forwarded to the City, for review and concurrence prior to <br /> beginning any field investigation. <br /> Consultant shall perform design surveys including mapping and mapping updates,necessary to <br /> complete a constructible PS&E. This includes horizontal and vertical control, drainage <br /> surveys, topographical surveys, cross sections, grid grades, open-ended traverses, profile data <br /> sheets and required documentation. Surveys performed by Consultant shall conform to the <br /> requirements of the Land Surveyors Act and per City's direction. In accordance with the Act, <br /> "responsible charge" for the work shall reside with a Registered Civil Engineer registered prior <br /> to January 1, 1982, or a Licensed Land Surveyor, in the State of California. <br /> The surveyor shall complete a topographic survey map of the site to prepare a base map for <br /> the project plans and right-of-way engineering. The field survey shall also be required to <br /> provide existing property corners (for determination of right-of-way acquisitions), spot <br /> elevations,identify any unknown features, identify all known existing utilities in the street and <br /> on private property, and cross sections,. Develop a base map of the proposed alignment, <br /> including public right-of-way and proposed right-of-way acquisitions with new legal <br /> descriptions. Plats, Record of Survey, property lot lines, street centerlines, bench marks, <br /> monuments, and control points shall be confirmed and shown on the plans. Consultant is to <br /> conduct site visits to identify all existing improvements and conditions that may affect the <br /> design and construction of the proposed project and existing site conditions. Provide one (1)- <br /> foot contours based on City of Santa Ana vertical datum. Establish street centerlines, right-of- <br /> way lines existing and proposed, and all easements from available record information.Provide <br /> the basis-of-bearing and benchmark information used for the survey and necessary for <br /> construction. Consultant shall locate and tie any features that would affect the design or <br /> construction. <br /> Conduct a thorough independent field investigation of the project site to identify pre-existing <br /> site conditions and physical constraints of the project area. Consultant shall obtain Record of <br /> Surveys, benchmark and centerline tie information. The Consultant shall also coordinate and <br /> verify datum with SCRRA as the railroad ROW may not be on the same datum. <br />
