Consultant shall submit(3) sets of specifications (beginning <br /> with the 65%submittal).Paper submittals shall be accompanied by electronic copies (PDF <br /> and WORD files) of submittals. The final submittal shall include one (1) set of 24-inch x <br /> 36-inch original signed/sealed plans on bond paper, one (1) set of signed/sealed final <br /> specifications, appendices, bid form, construction cost estimate, and electronic files as <br /> described herein. <br /> G. Bidding Phase Support <br /> Assist the City in providing clarification and prepare information to be used in addenda as <br /> needed for questions that may arise during the bidding process. City shall prepare and make <br /> available to plan holders any required addenda. Attend the pre-bid meeting and assist the <br /> City with bid evaluations and recommendation of bid award. <br /> H. Conformed Plans and Specifications <br /> Prepare conformed plans and specifications for use in constructing the project. The <br /> conformed plans and specifications shall reflect changes made during bidding and shall be <br /> noted as a revision to the final design plans. <br /> 8. RAILROAD & STRUCTURAL DESIGN <br /> A. Railroad & Bridge Design <br /> Bridge plans shall be prepared in accordance with the Caltrans Bridge Design Details <br /> Manual, Bridge Design Aids Manual, Bridge Memos to Designers, Division of Structures <br /> current edition, and SCRRA standards and design manuals. Consultant shall prepare a <br /> concept submittal package as required under SCRRA Grade Separation Projects. The <br /> submittal package shall include the proposed plan, elevation, and typical sections of the <br /> proposed grade separation showing bridge width and location within the OCTA right-of- <br /> way. The submittal package shall also include existing and proposed track lay-outs and any <br /> proposed shooflies and construction phasing that shall impact SCRRA facilities or <br /> operations.Consultant shall prepare the Structures Memorandum bridge type report and the <br /> bridge general plan to comply with the most current SCRRA, AREMA, and CPUC <br /> guidelines. The memorandum shall state recommendations for retaining wall types, as <br /> required. Consultant shall submit to the City and SCRRA for review and approval. <br /> The bridge type report shall include a discussion of foundation and falsework requirements, <br /> seismic and aesthetic considerations, traffic handling requirements and alternatives, and <br /> construction cost and staging. In addition, Consultant shall develop an order-of-magnitude <br /> construction cost estimate in a format to be specified by the City. Anticipated construction <br /> methods shall be identified in the Type Selection process and coordinated with the project <br /> geometry. Consultant shall submit Type Selection documents to the City and SCRRA for <br /> review and approval. Consultant shall discuss, review, and coordinate the bridge type and <br /> retaining wall type selections with the City and SCRRA. These discussions shall include <br /> pros and cons for each structure type being considered, including construction costs, <br /> schedule, constructability issues, maintenance, and aesthetics. <br />
