I am writing to request that the City Council delay consideration of the self-checkout ordinance on the <br /> agenda for tonight's meeting until you have had a chance to learn more about the impact on the grocery stores that <br /> provide an essential service and hundreds of jobs in the community. <br /> Similar ordinances have passed in other California cities, increasing costs and operational complexity for grocers.This <br /> ultimately leads to higher grocery prices and a negative experience for associates and customers. <br /> We ask that you meet with representatives from our industry to hear our concerns before moving forward. We stand <br /> ready to work with you on an ordinance that can work for all parties involved.
