S.A. 13-015
Investigator: K. DeGraffenreid Approved By:
Date of Report: 7-3-13 Date: 07/09/2013
The paramedics had reported that there was pulseless electrical activity in the heart and the
patient was a-systolic, which meant there was no movement of the heart.
Upon arrival at the ER at 0850 hours, observed a 30 year old female, in a-systole,
with approximately five gunshot wounds in the following locations: mid back, left scapula area,
right scapula area, right bicep and left breast.
was unsure when GONZALEZ had lost pulses, so he performed an anterial lateral
left side thoracotomy to observe the heart. At the same time, a chest tube was placed into her
right side, in case her lung had collapsed. opened the pericardium and noted that there
appeared to be a wound to the left ventricle and there was no cardiac motion.
pronounced GONZALEZ deceased at 0855 hours.
did not administer any medications to GONZALEZ during the course of
treatment. According to the paramedics reported that GONZALEZ was in a-systole at
0820 hours. GONZALEZ arrived at the ER at 0850 hours. In professional opinion, thirty
minutes without a pulse was not survivable.
