OC CRIME LAB ( <br />County Executive Office -District Attorney -Sheriff <br />CRIME LAB REPORT OF EVIDENCE EXAMINATION <br />D ■AND ■ DDUNl'f, DAUJD ■NIA <br />Name: GONZALEZ, Jessica ( d) <br />EXAMINATIONS (continued): <br />OCCL Item 4 -Glock Model 22 pistol, .40 Smith & Wesson caliber, #LXN640 (AYALA). <br />FR#: 13-48764 <br />The pistol was received unloaded and with the magazine removed. Packaged with the pistol were a single <br />cartridge labeled as being from the chamber, an empty fifteen cartridge capacity Glock magazine and seven <br />cartridges labeled as being from the magazine. These eight cartridges were repackaged and submitted as a <br />new evidence item. Packaged separately from the pistol (OCCL Item 6) were two empty Glock fifteen <br />cartridge capacity magazines, each with fifteen cartridges. All thirty-eight cartridges are Winchester brand <br />.40 Smith & Wesson caliber, each loaded with an sxr® jacketed hollow point bullet. <br />A cloth patch for collecting residue was passed through the barrel and retained. The pistol is equipped with a <br />functional disconnector and trigger safety. The striker of the pistol will release with approximately five and <br />three-quarters pounds of trigger pull. <br />The pistol was test fired using ammunition from the laboratory reference collection. Additionally, seven of <br />the fifteen cartridges from one of the magazines were used to generate gunpowder patterns at muzzle to target <br />distances of 6, 12, 24, 36, 48, 72 and 84 inches. No gunpowder particles were observed on the 84 inch <br />distance target. The barrel of the pistol has six-sided right twist polygonal rifling. <br />The remaining twenty-three cartridges from the two magazines (OCCL Item 6) and the gunpowder patterns <br />were repackaged and submitted as new evidence items. <br />OCCL Item 12 -Bullet from white shirt. <br />The projectile from the White Shirt is an expanded .40 Smith & Wesson caliber Winchester brand SXT® <br />jacketed hollow point bullet. The bullet weighs approximately 176 grains and has marks from six-sided right <br />twist polygonal rifling. Apparent cloth and biological material on the bullet was collected and retained with <br />the bullet. <br />OCCL Item 14 -Projectiles from autopsy. <br />The projectile from the Left Chest is a small copper jacket fragment from a Winchester brand SXT® jacketed <br />hollow point bullet. The fragment weighs less than one grain and lacks marks suitable for further <br />classification. <br />The projectiles from the Lumbar Spine consist of a lead bullet core and three small lead fragments. The core <br />weighs approximately 131 grains and is too damaged for classification. The three small lead fragments have a <br />combined weight of approximately one grain and all lack marks suitable for classification. <br />The projectile from the Left Breast Wound is a small lead fragment that weighs less than one grain and lacks <br />marks suitable for classification. <br />An ASCLDILAB-International accredited laboratory N¥1' Page 3 o/5
