Santa Ana PD 2013-17495: Supplemental Report by #2706 Page 13 of 17 <br />I arrived at the crime scene and checked in with Officer Ribeiro #3224, who was maintaining the crime <br />scene personnel entry log. <br /> <br />Sergeant Craft #2979 gave a briefing about the officer involved shooting and the status of the initial <br />investigation by patrol officers. Present were Detectives from the Santa Ana Police Department, <br />Investigators form the Orange County District Attorney's Office, and members from the Orange County <br />Crime Lab. At the conclusion of the briefing, I was assigned to assist Orange County District Attorney <br />Investigator Bob Erickson with a canvass of the neighborhood for witnesses. <br /> <br />Investigator Erickson and I contacted the residents at . <br />The three locations are two story apartments. <br /> <br />We contacted the residents in apartment # told me she was in bed at about 0800 hours. <br />She was awake when she heard 7-10 gun shots. She did not hear anything further and walked out of her <br />apartment about 30 minutes later to find the police in the west alley. She did not see anything further. <br /> told me she was lying down in the living room when she heard 7 gun shots. She heard <br />the police sirens shortly thereafter and remained in her apartment. She did not go outside to investigate and went back to sleep. <br /> said he was asleep in the living room when his sister, awoke him. She told him she <br />had just heard several gunshots. He did not hear anything and went back to sleep. <br /> was asleep in his bedroom when he awoke to what he believed to be fireworks being <br />fired. He heard 2-3 bangs. He had nothing further to add. <br /> was in the shower at the time of our arrival. We returned later to speak with <br /> but found she had left the apartment.
