Santa Ana PD 2013-17495: Supplemental Report by #1628 Page 5 of 6 <br />Detective Cabrera briefed me on the details of the incident, that were known at that time. Detective <br />Cabrera told me the injured party was transported to the University of CA Irvine (UCI) Medical Center <br />in the City of Orange. Santa Ana Police Department Officer Juan Montiel accompanied the injured party <br />to that facility and was awaiting relief. I gathered my necessary equipment and went to the hospital. <br />1030 Hours: <br />I arrived at UCI Medical Center and located Officer Montiel in the emergency/trauma room of the <br />Douglas Hospital (within UCI). District Attorney Investigator Kory Degraffenried was also present. <br />Investigator Degraffenried gave me her case number as SA-13-015. <br />Officer Montiel told me the injured party was female and had succumbed to her wounds. The deceased <br />was in room DH-16. Officer Montiel told me he escorted the deceased to the hospital from the shooting <br />scene. He said it appeared the deceased sustained multiple gunshot wounds to her upper body. He said <br />the deceased was treated at the scene by Orange County Fire Authority Engine 73 Paramedics Baryic <br />Hunter and Micha McAllister. She was transported to UCI Medical Center by Care Ambulance Unit 299 <br />and EMT/FTO Kevin Sanchez and EMT Scott Carlson. The deceased was first taken to Trauma Room <br />A within the main hospital. Officer Montiel identified as the deceased's Attending <br />Trauma Physician and as the Attending Scribe RN. pronounced the victim <br />deceased at 0855 hours and the deceased was transferred to her present location thereafter. <br />1040 Hours: <br />As we maintained security over the deceased, Investigator Degraffenried called the Orange County <br />Sheriff-Coroner Department and requested their response to UCI Medical Center. At this time, Santa <br />Ana Police Department Homicide Detective Jim Garcia arrived. <br />1105 Hours: <br />Forensic Specialist Laurabeth Camacho of the Orange County Sheriff-Coroner Department arrived and <br />gave us her case number as FR#l3-48764. We continued to await the arrival of the Deputy Coroner. <br />1126 Hours: <br />Senior Deputy Comer Brooke Beasley of the Orange County Sheriff-Coroner Department arrived and <br />gave us her case number as 13-02615-BB. SDC Beasley was briefed. <br />1134 Hours: <br />In our presence, SDC Beasley's investigation commenced. During the investigation, various <br />observations of the deceased and her condition were noted. The deceased's clothing and personal items <br />were inspected. Refer to Investigator Degraffenried's report for those observations. <br />1206 Hours: <br /> arrived to transport the deceased to the Orange County <br />Coroner's Office for further investigation. At 1210 hours, prepared and bagged the body.
