Dawson Approved By: <br />Date of Report: 08/02/13 Date: 08/05/2013 <br />Page 1 of 6 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />CASE NAME: ARELLANO, HANS KEVIN <br />CLASSIFICATION: OFFICER INVOLVED SHOOTING (FATAL) <br />TYPE: CANVASS <br />AGENCY: SANTA ANA POLICE DEPARTMENT <br /> On Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at approximately 1518 hours, Orange County District <br />Attorney (OCDA) Supervising Investigator MARK GUTIERREZ contacted me regarding an officer <br />involved shooting incident involving the Santa Ana Police Department (SAPD). GUTIERREZ <br />requested I respond to 622 South Harbor Boulevard, in the city of Santa Ana, and assist with the <br />investigation. <br /> At approximately 1605 hours, I arrived at the incident location and met with <br />investigators from OCDA and SAPD who were present to assist in the investigation. <br /> At approximately 1631 hours, SAPD Acting Sergeant OLIVER GRANT conducted a briefing <br />of the known circumstances surrounding the incident for the personnel involved in the <br />investigation. <br /> Following the briefing, GUTIERREZ assigned SAPD Detective ANTONY NGUYEN and me to <br />team up and conduct canvass interviews of potential witnesses that lived or worked in the <br />immediate area of the shooting incident. During our canvass of the area, NGUYEN and I <br />conducted audio digital recorded interviews of the following individuals: <br />ORANGE COUNTY DISTRICT ATTORNEY’S OFFICE <br />BUREAU OF INVESTIGATION <br />SUPPLEMENTAL REPORT
